In the early morning hours of August 12, 2018, the life of 33-year-old Nakya D. Scott was tragically cut short in her Northeast Columbia, South Carolina home. Scott was in her bedroom with her boyfriend, preparing to go to bed, when a bullet pierced through the wall and struck her in the upper body. The shooting occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. in the 2000 block of Faraway Drive. Several juvenile residents were also present in the home at the time of the incident.
