In the early morning hours of February 27, 2020, the life of 40-year-old Shakila Shanta Booker was tragically cut short in Columbia, South Carolina. Gunfire erupted on Brady Street just after 6 a.m., leaving Booker with a fatal wound to her lower body. Despite her injuries, she managed to walk to nearby Carnegie Street in a desperate search for help.
