Death by Force

Allen Merrick, a 19-year-old freshman linebacker for the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) football team, died on August 14, 2020, after suffering a gunshot wound the previous day in his hometown of Gadsden, Alabama. The incident occurred while Merrick was visiting family, and preliminary investigations by the Gadsden Police Department suggested the shooting was accidental.
