On May 5, 2022, Raymond Earl Hamilton, a 57-year-old man, was killed in Bessemer, Alabama, after what investigators described as a violent confrontation between a tenant and his landlord along Alliance Road. Deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched in the late afternoon to a home in the Alliance community of Bessemer for a report of a shooting, and they arrived to find Hamilton dead at the scene from an apparent gunshot wound.
