In Mobile, Alabama, on the evening of May 30, 2022, 11-year-old LaQuinten Jerrin Morrissette, an African American male, was inside his home at the R.V. Taylor Plaza when gunfire erupted outside. A bullet pierced the residence on Duval Street, striking the young boy. He was rushed to a local hospital but tragically succumbed to his injuries. His family remembered him as a kind, sweet, and playful child who loved to eat, play outside, and create TikTok videos.
