In the late hours of a Tuesday in Mobile, Alabama, the life of 19-year-old Keith Fredricks was tragically cut short. On February 15, 2022, at approximately 11:37 p.m., police responded to a chaotic scene on Cottage Hill Road where multiple people had been shot. Fredricks was discovered inside a vehicle, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the immediate response from Mobile Fire Rescue, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Two other 19-year-old males were also found nearby with gunshot wounds and were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation into the shooting moved swiftly, and authorities soon identified several individuals believed to be involved in the incident that led to Fredricks's death. The Mobile Police Department announced the arrests of four men: 21-year-old Kenyadrick Drake, 20-year-old Isaac Parker, 20-year-old Antiono Sykes, and 23-year-old Terrell Smith-Dickerson. Each of these suspects faced serious charges, including murder, two counts of attempted murder, and shooting into an occupied vehicle.
As the investigation continued to unfold, a fifth suspect was identified and taken into custody. Brandon Ely, 20 years old at the time, was also arrested in connection with the fatal shooting. He faced the same charges as the other four individuals: murder, two counts of attempted murder, and shooting into an occupied vehicle.
