In the late spring of 2024, a shooting incident in Mobile, Alabama, resulted in the death of 45-year-old Christopher Robinson. The event unfolded on the evening of Thursday, May 16, 2024, when police were dispatched to the 300 block of Gaston Street. Upon their arrival, they discovered Robinson suffering from a gunshot wound.
Following the shooting, the Mobile Police Department initiated a homicide investigation to piece together the circumstances that led to Robinson's death.
Their search for a suspect continued for nearly a month. The investigation took a significant turn when a 55-year-old man from Mobile voluntarily surrendered to law enforcement in connection with the fatal shooting.
The individual who turned himself in was identified as Gregory York. Following his surrender on a Wednesday evening in mid-June, he was charged with the murder of Christopher Robinson. York was subsequently booked into the Mobile Metro Jail, where he was held without bond. Later that summer, in August, it was anticipated that a grand jury would hear the case against him.
