On January 6, 2021, Van Devonte Kennedy, a 26-year-old African American male, was fatally shot in Mobile, Alabama. The incident occurred around noon near the intersection of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue and St. Stephens Road. Kennedy was inside a vehicle with 25-year-old African American male Camdon Jackson when gunfire erupted between two cars.
