In the early evening of January 6, 2021, the lives of two young men were tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue in Mobile, Alabama. Van Kennedy, a 26-year-old male, and his friend, 25-year-old Camdon Jackson, were sitting in a parked vehicle when they were ambushed and fatally shot. The sudden violence of the attack sent shockwaves through the community and left two families grieving the senseless loss of their loved ones.
