In the early hours of a Saturday morning, the life of 20-year-old Mandrell Vashon Henley, Jr. was tragically cut short. On December 15, 2018, in Mobile, Alabama, Henley was fatally shot. The incident occurred at approximately 2 a.m. at the South of Dauphin Apartments located at 3105 Dauphin Street. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered Henley in a bedroom, having sustained a gunshot wound.
He was pronounced deceased at the location.
Henley, born on April 27, 1998, was a graduate of Ben C. Rain High School's class of 2016. He was remembered as a friendly individual who enjoyed video games and spending time with his loved ones.
In the days following the shooting, the Mobile Police Department identified 23-year-old Nathan Bartholomew as the suspect in Henley's murder. A warrant was issued for his arrest, and he was considered armed and dangerous. The investigation continued, and on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, authorities located and apprehended Bartholomew. He was subsequently arrested for the murder of Mandrell Henley.
