On the evening of June 30, 2022, at approximately 9:15 PM, Florence Police Department officers responded to a reported shooting at 214 Holt Avenue in Florence, Alabama. Upon arrival, they discovered 35-year-old Darrious Marqua "Poody" Smith critically wounded inside the residence. Smith was promptly transported to North Alabama Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
