Miguel Antonio Adame, a 19-year-old male, was a recent graduate of Florence High School, class of 2020, where he was known as a talented soccer player. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, as well as kayaking and fishing. His life was tragically cut short on August 30, 2021, when he was found deceased at the Quail Run Apartments in Florence, Alabama.
An investigation revealed that Adame had been shot multiple times in what was determined to be a homicide.
In connection with the death of Miguel Adame, two juvenile males were arrested and subsequently charged. The suspects were identified as Quearus Ashton Coffey and Azahlen Flint, both of whom were 15 years old at the time of the incident. Despite their ages, both teenagers were adjudicated to be tried as adults. Their requests for youthful offender status were denied by the court.
Quearus Ashton Coffey was indicted by a Lauderdale County Grand Jury on charges of capital murder and second-degree receiving stolen property. He was booked into the Lauderdale County Detention Center and is being held without bond. The trial for Coffey is scheduled to begin on February 9, 2026. Azahlen Flint is expected to be tried separately at a later date.
