On the morning of July 16, 2022, 47-year-old Larry Taylor Jr. was fatally shot outside the Keeton Correctional Facility in Birmingham, Alabama. At approximately 7:30 a.m., as Taylor was exiting the facility to head to work, he was approached in the parking lot by an assailant who fired multiple shots, resulting in his death. Taylor was transported by private vehicle to St. Vincent's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by medical staff.
