On the evening of July 29, 2022, at approximately 7:25 PM, Montgomery police and fire medics responded to a shooting incident in the 400 block of South Jackson Street, near the intersection with Highland Avenue and High Street. Upon arrival, they discovered two men, both 30 years old and residents of Montgomery, suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds. The victims were identified as William Lee and Emanuel Harmon Jr.
