On August 28, 2022, at approximately 5:51 a.m., Bessemer Police responded to reports of a possible stabbing in the 3300 block of Avenue C. Upon arrival, officers discovered 33-year-old Cynthia Anabel Cardenas seated in a running vehicle, having sustained gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
