On July 12, 2023, 48-year-old Tomeik Keyshun Mosley of Birmingham, Alabama, was fatally struck by a vehicle in Bessemer. The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. as Mosley was crossing Ninth Avenue North at the intersection of Brewer Drive. A white Hyundai sedan collided with her, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
