On December 3, 2022, at approximately 2:00 a.m., Opelika Police responded to a report of a gunshot victim in the 1000 block of York Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered 37-year-old Montavian Demond "Money" Collier suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to East Alabama Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
