John Arthur Burkus, a 31-year-old man, was enjoying a walk with his dog along the Phenix City Riverwalk in Alabama on a Saturday afternoon when his life was tragically cut short. It was December 3, 2022, when Burkus, an avid outdoorsman, inadvertently stumbled upon a shooting in progress.
