On December 3, 2022, at approximately 2:30 p.m., 40-year-old Darren Darrlyn Tremaine Harris was fatally shot on the Phenix City Riverwalk in Phenix City, Alabama. The incident occurred in broad daylight, drawing significant concern from the community and law enforcement. Another individual, 32-year-old John Arthur Burkus, was also killed during the same event.
