Sergeant Daniel V. Davis, a 29-year-old officer with the Phenix City Police Department in Alabama, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2013. The incident occurred in the parking lot of his apartment complex on Summerville Road.
The cause of his death was determined to be an accidental gunshot wound. Davis accidentally shot himself in the leg while sitting in his unmarked car. This accident resulted in massive blood loss, which ultimately led to his death.
