On February 27, 2021, 32-year-old Curtis Lee Upshaw was fatally shot at the Marathon Gas Station located at 911 Broad Street in Phenix City, Alabama. Upon arrival, officers found Upshaw in the passenger seat of a vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, Georgia, where he was pronounced dead at 12:54 PM.
