On April 17, 2018, 23-year-old Xavier Fair was fatally shot at an apartment complex near 12th Avenue and Holsey Street in Phenix City, Alabama. Responding to the incident, Phenix City police detained 25-year-old Antorrius McDuffie for questioning. Subsequently, McDuffie was arrested and charged with murder in connection with Fair's death.
