On a tragic afternoon in Phenix City, Alabama, the life of 20-year-old Matthew Paul Chena was cut short. On July 12, 2023, Chena was found in a residential area in the southern part of the city, suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported him to a local hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Another man, 57-year-old Melvin Ware, was also killed in the incident.
