On November 26, 2020, 33-year-old Jeramie Tremaine Davis was fatally shot during a dispute at the Fort Mitchell, Alabama, residence of 65-year-old Curtis Boddy. Davis, who was dating Boddy's niece, was visiting the home on Thanksgiving Day when an argument ensued between him and Boddy. The confrontation escalated, leading Boddy's wife to intervene and attempt to separate the two men by pulling Davis out of the house.
