On the night of October 6, 2014, Derrick King, a 26-year-old African American male, was found deceased in Phenix City, Alabama. His body was discovered near the 900 block of 18th Avenue around 11:28 p.m. Preliminary autopsy results indicated that he had suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the head and body.
