In the early morning hours of May 11, 2026, the quiet of Phenix City, Alabama, was broken by a single gunshot that ended the life of 36-year-old Harvey Lee Walker Jr. The male victim was discovered by police inside a room at the Colonial Inn on the U.S. 280 Bypass. Walker, a resident of Columbus, Georgia, was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 2:00 a.m. from what the Russell County Coroner's Office confirmed was a fatal gunshot wound.
