On December 15, 2020, Phenix City Police responded to reports of a shooting at the LP Stough Apartments near building 79 around 5:30 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered 41-year-old African American male Jermaine Harris suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was immediately transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown Hospital for treatment. Despite medical efforts, Harris succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on December 17, 2020.
