Matthew James Brooks III, a 28-year-old male, tragically lost his life on January 17, 2025, in Phenix City, Alabama. The incident occurred at a Dollar General on Seale Road, where authorities responded to reports of a shooting late that evening. Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered Brooks, who had sustained fatal gunshot wounds. The Russell County Coroner confirmed his identity and pronounced him dead at the scene at 9:50 P.M.
