On the evening of April 30, 2017, a burst of violence shattered the night on 16th Avenue South in Phenix City, Alabama, claiming the life of 18-year-old Jarvis Demarcus Ford. An African American male, Ford was a resident of the very street where he was fatally shot. Rushed from the scene to Midtown Medical Center in nearby Columbus, Georgia, medical professionals were unable to save him from the grievous injuries he had sustained.
