On the night of September 19, 2014, Tyrelle Nikieth Kynard, a 17-year-old African American male from Phenix City, Alabama, was fatally shot shortly after a party at the Central Activity Center. The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m., and Tyrelle was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 12:30 a.m. He suffered a gunshot wound to the head.
