On February 4, 2023, 22-year-old Daeqwon Mackey was fatally shot in Phenix City, Alabama. The incident occurred around 2:45 p.m. in the 2700 block of 6th Street, where officers found Mackey suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
