On the night of February 21, 2024, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting at the Ari Motel on Preferred Place, near Interstate 20 and Camp Wisdom Road in the Red Bird area. Upon arrival, officers discovered 48-year-old Cedrick Woods, who had been fatally shot. Despite prompt medical attention, Woods was pronounced dead at the scene.
Tragically, Woods' young son witnessed the shooting and immediately sought help.
The suspect had fled the scene before police arrived. Through their investigation, detectives identified 32-year-old Branden Frazier as the suspect. Frazier and Woods were known to each other, suggesting a personal connection that may have led to the incident.
Frazier was subsequently located, arrested, and charged with murder. He was booked into the Dallas County Jail, where he awaited further legal proceedings.
