On the night of February 21, 2024, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting at the Ari Motel on Preferred Place, near Interstate 20 and Camp Wisdom Road in the Red Bird area. Upon arrival, officers discovered 48-year-old Cedrick Woods, who had been fatally shot. Despite prompt medical attention, Woods was pronounced dead at the scene.
