Ronald Dale Baker, a 24-year-old male officer with the Dallas Police Department, tragically lost his life on May 2, 1983. Officer Baker was on patrol in southeast Dallas when he confronted two suspects in a parking lot in the 7600 block of Daingerfield Drive. During the confrontation, the suspects overpowered him, shot him with his own weapon, and then ran over him twice with their van.
