Annie Lee Walton, aged 66, tragically lost her life on December 7, 2018, in Palmetto, Mississippi. Her death was the result of a drive-by shooting, a violent act that shocked the local community. The incident occurred in the Palmetto community of Lee County, where Walton was fatally shot. The perpetrator, Latavious Betts, was a 19-year-old who had been out on bond for another murder at the time of the shooting.
