In the winter of 2022, a young man's life was cut short on a street in Huntsville, Alabama. Victor Goode Jr., a 23-year-old male, was found deceased in the roadway on the 4200 block of Keith Street on the evening of Friday, December 9th. The cause of his untimely death was a shooting incident.
Responding to the scene, officers with the Huntsville Police Department initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting.
The department's Major Crimes Unit took the lead in the case. Their investigation pointed to a motive connected to drug-related activities.
Within a couple of weeks, the investigation led to the identification and apprehension of two suspects. On December 21, 2022, the Huntsville Police Department announced that they had charged 21-year-old Alexus Burton and 20-year-old Jovonta Jones with the murder of Victor Goode Jr. Following their arrests, both individuals were booked into the Madison County Jail. The investigation was ongoing, with authorities indicating that no further information would be immediately released.
