On December 19, 2022, at approximately 9:37 PM, Birmingham Police Department officers responded to a shooting incident near Park Place and 23rd Street North. Upon arrival, they discovered three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. Among them was 21-year-old DeAnthony Dewayne Samuels, a Birmingham resident. All three victims were transported to UAB Hospital, where Samuels succumbed to his injuries.
