Murdered

On February 7, 2009, 31-year-old Geraldo Gonzalez was found shot to death at 5018 18th Court North in Birmingham, Alabama. Authorities identified Julio Cesar Romero, with whom Gonzalez had an ongoing dispute, as the primary suspect. Romero initially fled to Georgia but later turned himself in to Birmingham police.

Gonzalez's death was one of 72 homicides reported in Birmingham during 2009. The city averaged six homicides per month that year, with February accounting for four incidents. ...Read More
