On February 16, 2016, in Birmingham, Alabama, 27-year-old Charles Burchfield was fatally shot during a domestic dispute with his girlfriend, Michelle Horn. The incident occurred around 11:45 a.m. in the 1600 block of Warrior Road, where officers from the West Precinct responded to reports of a person shot. Upon arrival, they found Burchfield lying on the ground near the apartments; he was pronounced deceased at the scene by Birmingham Fire and Rescue.
