Titus Johnson, a 28-year-old Black man from Birmingham, was found dead on May 7, 2012, in a case that seems to have unfolded in darkness and fire. According to online reports, someone living near the 5700 block of Avenue N in Ensley noticed flames and alerted authorities at about 2:30 a.m. Firefighters put out the blaze and discovered Johnson’s body inside the burned vehicle.
