On August 12, 2022, at approximately 5:50 PM, 18-year-old Alfred Lorenzo Jenkins Jr. was fatally shot at a Shell gas station located at 4012 Messer Airport Highway in Birmingham, Alabama. Upon arrival, South Precinct officers found Jenkins unresponsive inside the business, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to UAB Hospital by Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel, where he succumbed to his injuries.
