On August 3, 2021, 27-year-old Clifford Savontay Grayson Jr. was fatally shot at a Shell gas station located at 3833 Eastlake Boulevard in Birmingham, Alabama. At approximately 5:15 p.m., officers from the East Precinct responded to reports of a person shot and found Grayson unresponsive in the driver's seat of a vehicle that had collided with another near a gas pump. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived and pronounced him deceased at the scene.
