On May 14, 2023, 30-year-old JaQuell Jovont'e Graham was fatally shot at Lotus Gentlemen's Club in Prichard, Alabama. The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m., resulting in Graham's death and injuries to two others—one sustained a leg wound, and another was grazed by a bullet.
