On October 10, 2021, 24-year-old Joe Johnson was found deceased in a vacant lot on South Wilson Avenue in Prichard, Alabama. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
In December 2021, Prichard police arrested 18-year-old Anthony McCall in connection with Johnson's death. Investigators suggested that robbery might have been the motive behind the killing.
