Lachristian Jaquan Blythe, a 25-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed in Weldon, North Carolina, on June 12, 2022. The incident occurred early Sunday morning on Laurel Lane, a location within the housing authority complex in Weldon. The Halifax County Sheriff's Office reported that the gunfire was initially reported around 12:05 a.m. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Blythe with at least one gunshot wound.
Another individual was grazed by gunfire and transported for medical treatment. Both victims were taken to a nearby hospital, where Blythe was pronounced dead.
