In the winter of 2015, the community of Prichard, Alabama, was shaken by the discovery of two individuals who had lost their lives to gun violence. Roderick Reed, a 33-year-old male, was found deceased alongside 22-year-old Charnesha Jaquail Penn on January 15, 2015. Their bodies were located inside a car that had come to rest in a ditch on Warren Street in the Whistler area. Both individuals were pronounced dead at the scene, having suffered fatal gunshot wounds.
