On November 17, 2018, 67-year-old Jerry Ray DeLee was found deceased with a gunshot wound to the upper torso on South Main Avenue in Sylacauga, Alabama. The Sylacauga Police Department responded to reports of shots fired and discovered DeLee at the scene. A person of interest was taken into custody nearby on unrelated charges, but no charges were immediately filed in connection with DeLee's death.
