On August 8, 2024, 49-year-old Laquitta Charisse Dunn was fatally shot in a residence on Dennison Avenue in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident began when the suspect, 31-year-old Kerry Jackson Jr., engaged in a domestic dispute that escalated into violence. During this altercation, Jackson Jr. shot Dunn, who was a family friend.
