In the spring of 2016, a daytime shooting in Southeast Washington, D.C. claimed the life of 29-year-old Demetrius Stevenson. On the afternoon of Thursday, May 26, 2016, police were called to an apartment building in the 2700 block of Langston Place SE. Inside, on a third-floor landing, they discovered Stevenson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. He was rushed to a local hospital but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
