In the early morning hours of July 5, 2024, the life of Renard Keith West, a 55-year-old Black male, was tragically cut short in Birmingham, Alabama. Police were dispatched to the Arlington-West End neighborhood before 5:00 a.m. after receiving a shot spotter alert. Upon their arrival at a residence on Cotton Avenue, they discovered Mr. West in the front yard, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
