Dwight Lemar McCall, a 62-year-old man from Birmingham, was killed in the early morning hours of June 13, 2024, on the city’s east side, in the 8300 block of 1st Avenue North near East Lake Park. The scene that morning was grim and sudden, with police closing off part of the roadway as investigators worked to understand what had happened. Authorities said McCall was a pedestrian when he was struck by a vehicle, and the force of the collision left him dead at the scene before help could change ...
