On November 20, 2020, 19-year-old Marquise Nunn was fatally shot in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident occurred shortly before 6:00 p.m. in the 2900 block of Avenue Z. The Birmingham 911 Communication Division received a ShotSpotter alert indicating multiple rounds fired in the area. Upon arrival, West Precinct officers discovered Nunn lying unresponsive in the roadway, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to UAB Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
